"Pioneer Days" uses some Walt Whitman words and some serious Stones vibes.

*"Some Simple Things" I wrote with Kristin. I think Natalie Prass sings harmony on that one. The line about the Beach Boys is for Laura Cyrpus.

"Fairchild" and "Jolena": For about a year, I've had an idea floating around my head to make records of country music wrapped in a very lonely, dark, reverb accentuated production a la one of my favorite contemporary music groups, The Walkmen. I thought the detached scope of their music and wandering echoes of their almost broken instruments would suit the lyrics of country music very well. I believe that these two recordings realized that idea pretty fully.

"Wedding Waltz" Kristin wrote for her friend. Such a sweet tune. The young couple sadly split less than a year after we played the song at their wedding.

Musically, I think this is the kind of band that I was most comfortable playing in. Some reverb-y, electric, waltz-y, country music. I'm a reverb-y, electric, waltz-y, country guy.
