about

While operating Sky Mountain Studios in Nashville, TN, I would occasionally get restless and form little projects to mess around with when the Young Republic was off tour. Some records I produced were released, but many just languished on hard drives, unheard. Collected here are some of the most fun and interesting records I produced. I may have also helped write or play on quite a few of these, and many feature some of my YR bandmates -- Chris Miller definitely needs to be commended as my right hand man during most of the recording sessions. Some of the stuff is really cool (MoM, Sputnik, Cellophony), some is batshit crazy. Whatever happened to those Comanche & Knox guys.

It was fun to live in the recording studio for all those years.

Track Name: Bible Black - The Young Republic
Row, row your boat ashore
Bring the news from Delacroix
The factory might have to close
If there's meaning in the signs

Steer clear of the paddle wheels
Look for the swimmer who gots the feel
Be honest, don't be afraid to steal
From the men up on the hill

Deep, silent river
Unceasing to deliver
The pull of change
The drowning of old lines
The lion's share delivered
Old Daniel caught the shivers
He said, "Bible Black is the color of this night."

Dry off by the fire light
Tell the story to me one more time
If you could would you make it rhyme
And pick up that guitar

Don't be quick now to change the key
Appreciate your history
I never did one single thing
Until I found out what they'd done

Chorus
